Amy Howell, a local PR and marketing consultant, joined Earle Farrel today to discuss crime and personal safety in the MidSouth from a woman’s point of view.

“While being observant of your surroundings is one thing, it’s also important to be able to defend yourself in bad scenarios,” Amy said.

Amy went on to tell Earle Farrell her female friends are taking self-defense classes using mace, tear gas, loud devices, and even guns

There are classes in all of the above for instructions and safety in the MidSouth area. Amy advises not only women, but everyone to look into the different options for personal safety.

Although Memphis police are doing all they can we are quickly learning that’s not enough.

“We can sit around and wait, or take action,” Amy Howell says, “I’m going to do something about it myself.”
