After taking two-weeks off to focus on recovery from surgery, I’ll return to The Mighty 990 on Monday. I am looking forward to rejoining “Wake Up Memphis” from 6-9 a.m.
IT’S HOME FOR NOW
The road to full recovery from a total hip replacement remains a long one. For now, it’s about patience and faithfulness to the prescribed rehab plan. I haven’t been cleared to climb stairs or drive. Although I can’t (logistically) work in-studio yet, I can (at least) deliver a morning show without pain or being under the influence of a painkiller.
Thankfully the Mighty 990 has the technology to make it happen. Monday morning I will do something I haven’t done before- broadcast from my home. I prefer to be in the Brim’s Snack Foods Studio, but that will have to wait for a few weeks. Working from home won’t cure the cabin fever, but it does give me something to look forward to doing. Also, I can push the walker over to the stove and make an omelet during a break.Seriously, I can’t wait to be back with you on Monday. We have some catching up to do. We also have a ton of current events to talk about, and we’ll do just that.

Today has been a great day. I got some great reading material from Mark Randall at The DeSoto Times-Tribune. He sent me some Batman comic books. It’s a perfect gift. I’m not a comic book reader, but I’ve always wanted to get a couple to check out. Thanks Mark!
The Memphis Americans indoor soccer team’s Co-Owner and President delivered some practice gear to my house to wear while I rehab.
As if today wasn’t great enough already , Chett Hopper came by for lunch and just to hang out. We shot the breeze for a couple of hours on pretty much everything from world events to 80s wrestling. Normally, I ice my hip and leg every day. We laughed so hard today, I had to ice my abs. Make sure in life you have at least one friend like Chett that makes you laugh that hard. So glad he took a good bit of one of his days off to come by.Have a great weekend!
