Three teenagers and a nine-month-old baby were shot at a gas station on Elvis Presley Blvd. in Whitehaven. Two of the teens were killed.

Memphis Police say the victims were inside a car at a gas pump at a Marathon station around 9:35 p.m. when someone driving a Nissan pulled up beside them and opened fire.

A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, but they died Saturday morning from their injuries. Another 16-year-old and the baby are listed in non-critical condition.

The Nissan was later recovered, but no arrests have been made, police said. The motive behind the shooting is unknown, he said.

Police said that the shooters took off in a blue four-door Nissan Maxima and the alleged suspect’s car has since been recovered.

“This is a sickening crime,” said Todd Starnes, owner of KWAM NewsTalk 107.9 FM 990 AM. “The killers must be brought to justice.”

Starnes said it’s beyond time for lawmakers to do something about the epidemic of violence that has plagued the Bluff City.

“Our elected leaders, mostly Democrats, have allowed our beautiful city to be turned into a war zone,” Starnes said. “They refuse to unleash the police and provide them the resources they need to do their jobs. But this is what happens when you elect people to office who don’t believe that all lives matter.”
