State Rep. Joe Towns (D- Memphis) told KWAM the three rogue Democrat lawmakers should face punishments but not expulsion.
Tennessee state representatives will be voting Thursday to expel three House Democrats — State Reps. Justin Jones (D-Nashville), Gloria Johnson (D-Knoxville), and Justin Pearson (D-Memphis) — for disorderly behavior on the House Floor following the deadly Nashville school shooting.
“There are other things that can be done, why expel a member? Three members at one time, that’s never happened in the 200+ years of the state,” Towns told “Wake Up Memphis” host Todd Starnes Wednesday. “That’s unwise, that’s not a wise move. So I could never vote to expel a member for that.”
