Accusations against the Memphis Police Department are stacking up amid a federal investigation into the department over claims of racism.

Last week, DOJ officials encouraged Black Memphians to report any and all negative interactions with law enforcement to assist with the probe.

One man has already filed a lawsuit against the department, accusing an officer of raping him during a traffic stop in 2019.

“I don’t want to be the next Tyre Nichols or George Floyd. I need my story to be heard while I’m still breathing,” the man told Channel 3.

Another man, a former recruit, said told WREG-TV the top brass within the department have a “master-slave mentality.”

A woman told Local 24-TV she’s been “living in fear” because the black community has been “targeted for the color of their skin.”

KWAM host Todd Starnes slammed the accusations against the MPD.

“My heart goes out to every Memphis police officer,” Starnes said Monday. “We know this is bogus. We know this is politically motivated. And you have professional race agitator coming after good and decent people.”
