The conservation alert went into effect at 1 p.m. Tuesday.MLGW customers are asked to do the following:

- Turn off electric space heaters
- Turn off all lights
- Set thermostat at 68 degrees
- Unplug everything not in use
- Do not run the washing machine or dishwasher
