Since 1950, Eureka Springs, Arkansas has put up their Nativity scene.

Christy said the controversy stemmed from one person’s complaint about the Christian tradition and threatened to sue the city.

When The Great Passion Play organizers were ordered that they should take it down, they stood firm and did not comply.

“It’s a big deal to me and I refuse to take it down,” he said. “Goodness, it’s Christ’s birthday, how could it be illegal to show his birth?”

Christy noted the Mayor has reached back out after receiving many phone calls and has suddenly changed his mind about taking it down.
