BBB Warns Of Home Intruders Posing As MLGW Workers

These days with everything going, it’s hard to even trust the things that are right in front of you, Daniel Irwin, BBB of the Mid South’s communications director, told “Wake Up Memphis” Wednesday.

Irwin warned of incidents lately where home intruders in MLGW uniforms posing as employees randomly drop by people’s homes and claim they have to enter the home to inspect or do some work.

He highly suggests to everyone who isn’t expecting such a visit to verify the information by calling MLGW for confirmation and asking for their verification badge if you still feel suspicious.

“That goes to show it’s another tactic. They hop on to everything,” Irwin said. “Usually when we talk about MLGW scams, it’s about those pesky calls. This one is a whole other thing. MLGW is constantly in the news cycle, so scammers and thieves are always using current events against us.”
