Shelby County claimed second place overall in generating tourism dollars in the Volunteer state.

That’s according to the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.

Shelby County generated $3.4 billion dollars in direct visitor spending – second only to Davidson County.

According to the Memphis Business Journal, the top five tourist destinations in the Mid-South include Horseshoe Casino in Tunica, Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid, Gold Strike Casino Resort, the Southland Casino Hotel and topping the list – the Beale Street Historic District.

Graceland ranked 18th on the list – behind the Memphis Redbirds and Golf & Games Family Park on Summer Avenue.
