Bellevue Baptist Church Pastor Steve Gaines joined “Wake Up Memphis” with Todd Starnes and Ben Deeter to preview their Easter services and how they’re helping the victims of tornado damage in Covington, Tennessee.

Following the tornado damage caused across parts of Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee over the past few weeks, Bellevue is partnering with relief workers in Covington.

“It’s just all kinds of help that’s needed,” Pastor Gaines said. “Obviously, they need a lot of people there to help with chainsaw work, with moving trees, helping with debris and just encouraging people.”

Besides providing for practical, physical needs, the opportunity of volunteering in the community gives Bellevue the platform to share Jesus Christ.

In addition, while churches across the country are in the midst of Holy Week, Bellevue is offering a variety of services for Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

“I tell everybody that’s Super Bowl Sunday for the Christians,” Pastor Gaines said. “Christmas is wonderful, but Easter is the greatest day of the year.”
