Jo Gilbert, Executive Director of the Madonna Learning Center, joined KWAM’s “Wake Up Memphis” to talk about the center’s mission and its latest project.
Gilbert explained The Madonna Learning Center “is a school and adult training center for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.”
Out of the center have come multiple projects, including Bluff City Toffee.The business, bought and operated by Madonna Learning Center, aims to bring sweet treats to the Mid-South with an even sweeter mission.
“We thought this was a great opportunity for our young adults to be able to work in the community making a sweet treat and extend what we’re already doing in our adult program to a new level,” Gilbert said.
