“Out of an abundance of caution and working closely with the authorities, the decision was made to temporarily evacuate the festival grounds and temporarily suspend admissions,” Memphis in May officials said in a statement.
Venue evacuations are extremely rare, but meteorologists were concerned about the dangers posed by the fast-moving storms.
