Over 48,000 people will make their way through Memphis International Airport during Spring Break.
The five day travel period runs from March 6-10. Airport officials released list of dos and don’ts for passengers ahead of their trip:
Dos:
- Arrive early: Arrive at least two hours before your flight
- Prepare your bags: Limit carry-on bags to one, and one personal item.
- Put all carry-on items in a bin for screening.
- Check prohibited items: Review the TSA’s list of prohibited items
- Consider travel insurance: Travel insurance can help protect you from unexpected costs
Don’ts
- Don’t leave luggage in your car: If you park in the blue or yellow lots, you can drop off luggage and passengers at the terminal before parking
Other tips
- Lots may reach capacity during peak travel days
- Shuttles run between the blue and yellow lots and the terminal
- The Cell Phone Lot waiting area is free and close to the terminal
- MEM is known for short security lines, but flights before a weekend or holiday can be busy
