BREAKING: One Dead in Massive Nursing Home Blaze

DEVELOPING STORY: At least one person is dead and two others are in critical condition after a large fire at a nursing home in Hickory Hills.

Memphis Fire Chief Gina Sweat tells Action 5 News that “multiple people” had to be rescued from the “Feels Like Home Senior Lifestyle Residences.” The nursing home is located on Kirby Road.

The three-alarm fire caused extensive damage to the nursing home.

One resident told the television station “he woke up and the building was on fire. He says residents are being put on this MATA bus and being transported to a hotel. He said he “’hanks the Lord for making it out of that joint.'”
