The saga of the “Troubled Bridge Over Water” is headed toward a faster-than-expected conclusion.
Tennessee Department Of Transportation (TDOT) officials announced today that all eastbound lanes of the Interstate 40 bridge over the Mississippi River (Hernando DeSoto Bridge) will open at 10pm Saturday. Original plans called for reopening those lanes on Monday morning. Officials cite the contractor’s completion of eastbound work ahead of schedule as the reason behind the change.
TDOT also noted that all westbound lanes could reopen sooner than the current target date of Friday, August 6. We will keep you updated at The Mighty 990.
