Terry Brimhall, the owner of Brim’s Snack Foods, tells ‘Wake Up Memphis’ with Robyn Walensky how his local business turned into a well-known national staple.

Brimhall is bullish on the economy and says during the coronavirus pandemic, fans of his products were busy stocking up on them.

“We all need comfort food,” both Brimhall and Walensky agree.

Brimhall, the sponsor of the ‘Wake Up Memphis’ studio, started selling snacks in the late 1970s when he was attending college.

“I was looking to make some extra spending money,” Brimhall tells ‘Wake Up Memphis.’

By the time he graduated, his part-time passion had turned into a full-time job. He got married and his wife, who worked for Kroger supermarkets, left her job to join and help build the Brim’s brand.

While pork rinds snacks came first, Brim’s now sells a wide variety of snacks including popcorn, which comes in a variety of delicious flavors, including white cheddar.

“We’ve got a recipe on buttered popcorn that’s as good as what you get at the theater when you go to the movies,” Brimhall tells Walensky.
