WATCH: Country Star Applauded in Nashville for Changing ‘Bud Light’ Lyric

Country music star Riley Green’s hit song “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” sounded a little bit different than usual when he performed it in Nashville Friday.

Typically, when fans listen to the song’s chorus, they hear Green say that he wishes “coolers never ran out of cold Bud Light.”

However, after the popular beer brand launched an ad campaign sponsoring transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, Green changed the lyric in his recent performance to say, “I wish coolers never ran out of cold Coors Light.”

The crowd at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium erupted in cheers and applause after Green ditched the woke brand.

Green is not the only country star to distance himself from the Bud Light brand as a result of the company’s woke ad campaign.

Country star John Rich, who owns a bar in Nashville, removed cases of Bud Light from the establishment because he claims the beer stopped selling after the company’s controversy.

“I own a bar in downtown Nashville,” Rich said in an appearance on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” “Our number one selling beer up until a few days ago was what? Bud Light. We got cases and cases and cases of it sitting back there. But in the past several days you’re hard-pressed to find anyone ordering one. So as a business owner, I go, hey if you aren’t ordering it, we got to put something else in here. At the end of the day, that’s capitalism. That’s how it works.”

Additionally, music artist Kid Rock posted a video of himself shooting cases of Bud Light with an assault rifle after the ad deal was announced.

Bud Light is owned by Anheuser-Busch. The parent company also makes Budweiser, Michelob Ultra, Stella Artois, Busch, Natural Light and a host of other popular beer brands.
