DEVELOPING STORY: One person was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon inside Campbell Clinic on Poplar in Collierville. The story was first reported by a KWAM citizen journalist in our “Stop Memphis Crime” group.
The identifies of the gunman and the victim have not been released. However, local reports and eyewitnesses say a physician had been targeted.“It’s bad. It’s horrific. It’s terrible,” Chief Dale Lane said.
The gunman ran from the scene but was taken into custody within five minutes, the chief said at a Tuesday afternoon press conference.
“There were many patients that were there,” Chief Lane said.The chief also commended the staff of Campbell Clinic for taking charge in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.
“We saw people stressful environments go into what they had been trained to do,” the chief said.
