DEVELOPING STORY: The Memphis Police Dept. says they will not release the body cam footage of the arrest of Tyre Nichols — at least not for now.“Transparency remains a priority in this incident, and a premature release could adversely impact the criminal investigation and the judicial process,” Police Chief CJ Davis said in a statement. “We are working with the District Attorney’s office to determine the appropriate time to release video recordings publicly.”
What’s curious is the use of the words “video recordings.” There are unconfirmed reports the five officers involved in the arrest were not wearing uniforms and were not wearing body cameras.
