ORIGINAL REPORT: Multiple people have been shot at a Fourth of July Parade in Highland Park, Illinois. The attack happened in a wealthy Chicago suburb. Video shows a marching band running for cover along the parade route.The shooting happened “in the area of the Independence Day parade route,” the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said in statement posted shortly after 11 a.m. CDT.
No other details, including how many people were shot, were released.
“Highland Park Police are responding to an incident in downtown Highland Park,” according to statement from the lakeshore city just north of Chicago.
Witnesses say shooter was on a roof of a store when shooting occurred, according to WGN.The KWAM NewsTalk Memphis team will be updating this story throughout the day.
