CHRISTMAS WEEKEND: Local Church Services Happening in Memphis

Christmas Day falls on a Sunday this year and Memphians have plenty of options to celebrate the birth of Jesus this year at the pew.

A Lifeway Research Study recently reported that 84 percent of American churches still plan on holding a special service on Christmas Day.

“Families have many traditions on Christmas morning, and most pastors acknowledge not as many of their members will be present compared to Christmas Eve and services earlier in the month,” said Scott McConnell, executive director of Lifeway Research. “However, churches not holding services on Christmas Day are still the exception.”

Here is a list of churches in Memphis and what they plan on doing this Christmas Weekend:

  • Highpoint Church will be having a special Christmas Eve service on Saturday at 9 am and 11 am at their East Memphis location, and at 10 am at their Collierville campus.
  • Bellevue Baptist Church will be having a service on Christmas Eve at 5 pm and on Sunday morning at 10:00 am.
  • Germantown Baptist Church will have a Christmas Eve Service at 5 pm.
  • Life Church will have an online-only service that will be available to stream on Christmas Eve.
  • Central Church will have a Christmas Eve service at 2 pm and 4 pm and on Sunday morning at 10:00 am.
