McCarter has had to reinvent her original business as the tours portion of the business has been canceled due to the virus.

McCarter tells ‘Wake Up Memphis’ she urgently needed to come up with a long term business model to keep the company afloat, and she reached out to Brown.

“I wanted to take it up another notch and be able to ship all of these delicious foods we have here in Memphis and be able to send them nationwide,” McCarter says.

After coming up with the gift box idea, McCarter immediately contacted Brown, and jokes “she joined the crazy train of entrepreneurship with me.”

Some of the items included in the “Official Memphis Travel box” include Wing Guru Memphis Dry Heat Fried Pork Skins, New Wing Order Award-winning Memphis buffalo sauce, Germantown Commissary Memphis style bbq seasoning,  Rendezvous World-famous BBQ sauce and Makeda’s Cookies.

The second box is called the “Support Local Box” which features locally made products such as My Cup of Tea, Nine Oat One homemade granola, Pop’s Kernel Gourmet Popcorn, and Spicy Z’s Italian lemon pepper seasoning and Thistle and Bee Wildflower honey.
