Former American Idol contestant and now Christian music artist Colton Dixon chats with ‘Wake Up Memphis’ about God’s miracles in his life and all the new music he’s been creating in 2020.

Dixon and his wife welcomed beautiful twin daughters this year, and their lives have been changed forever.

“We found that two-for-one coupon along the way,” he jokes with ‘Wake Up Memphis’ host Tim Van Horn.

Having twins has given Dixon even more appreciation for his wife.

“She’s just so incredible, she just has so much more patience than I do,” Dixon explains. “We’re just having the best time doing this together.”

While he’s adjusting to his new parental duties, he’s also hard at work making music.

While he just released a Christmas single, ‘Let It Snow,’ his hit single ‘Miracles’ has been riding the airwaves all year long. The single is currently in the top ten on National Christian Audience Chart and has accumulated over 10 million streams.

He wrote it right after parting with his previous record label, and he says it’s about “appreciating all the little details” and recognizing how “God’s looking out for us.”

The song hit home especially during the births of his twins. The first daughter was born not breathing, and Dixon says he had to trust God would save her, which He did. However, he says God doesn’t always work things out the way we had hoped.

“It’s always funny when you write a song and then you have to actually do it,” he tells ‘Wake Up Memphis.’
