In order to not lose our community to rampant crime, we need to be proactive not reactive, Cordova Republican Club President Matt Case told KWAM Wednesday.

With crime spikes across Memphis, their worry is that Cordova will be the next part of Memphis to crumble like other communities have in the past.

“We’ve got to get ahead of this stuff whether it’s crime, whether it’s education or the economy,” Case told “Wake Up Memphis” host Todd Starnes. “There are good people in Cordova, it’s a great community, it has been for decades. We want to continue that, the Cordova Republican Club is here for everybody to come, get your voice out and work on these issues.”

The club will be hosting an event Thursday morning at the YMCA Cordova Headquarters. They encourage anyone from either political spectrum to gather and unify.
