Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy held a press conference in Germantown recently, but he didn’t receive a warm welcome from residents.

Memphis City Councilman Frank Colvett Jr., who is also running for Memphis mayor, joined “Wake Up Memphis” to talk about Mulroy’s tenure so far and the crime that is spilling out of Memphis into the suburbs.

Many have criticized Mulroy’s soft-on-crime tactics and his revolving door for criminals in the system.

The questions presented to District Attorney Mulroy were reportedly screened and not taken directly from the Germantown audience.

“If you are to be a leader, then no question is out of bounds,” Colvett added.
