The blood donation levels are so low in the Mid-South, three units still must be shipped in for every unit donated. Vitalant Blood Donation Regional Manager David Williams joined Tim Van Horn on Wake Up Memphis. They discussed the urgent need for blood donations in the Mighty 990 listening area.
Williams attributes annual summertime busyness as part of the problem. He added that many people are uncertain if having Covid and/or the vaccine prevents them from donating. He gave Tim a synopsis of eligibility requirements as well as how much benefit can come from one donation.
