Demers: Ida Bringing Windy, Rainy Conditions To Mid-South

This satellite image released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) shows Tropical Storm Laura in the North Atlantic Ocean, Friday, Aug. 21, 2020. Laura formed Friday in the eastern Caribbean and forecasters said it poses a potential hurricane threat to Florida and the U.S. Gulf Coast. A second storm also may hit the U.S. after running into Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. (NOAA via AP)

News Channel 3 Daybreak Meteorologist Todd Demers said Tropical Storm Ida will impact parts of the Mid-South.

Demers joined Tim Van Horn and Chett Hopper on “Wake Up Memphis” to discuss then-Hurricane Ida’s landfall and its downgraded trek into Mississippi.  Todd noted where he believes the area most impacted by storm will be and when.  He talked about heavy rain, breezy conditions, and whether other hazards are possible.

Todd Demers also provided a brief weather lesson.  He explained why tropical storms deliver heavy rains in some areas and very little precipitation in other locations.
