A woman was almost abducted by two men while jogging with her dog Wednesday in East Memphis, according to police.

The Memphis Police Department said it responded to the incident that happened around 2 p.m. on Long Leaf Drive. Reports are a man stepped out of a dark grey car and tried to seize her on the corner of Pinehurst and Chanwil.

Then, the victim reportedly ran and screamed for help as the men drove away in the car that had a damaged rear end and tinted windows in the back.

She described the criminals donning black ski masks and gloves. The woman sought safety in a witness’s garage, but the men still haven’t been found by police.

“The car backed up and her reaction and my reaction was like, ‘oh my gosh, something’s getting ready to happen,’” Laura Slavney, a neighbor who witnessed the attempt, told Fox 13.

“I barely saw the door open but it was the fact that the car backed up, she turned around and started just screaming, like ‘no, no, no, no’ and then I knew exactly what was getting ready to happen,” Slavney added. “She was walking her dog so it was just so random. So yeah, it was scary.”
