It was a bowl game to remember for Arkansas and Kansas as their matchup for the 64th AutoZone Liberty Bowl caught the eye of ESPN, earning the fifth-best college football game in 2022.
Leading 38-13 at one point, the Razorbacks seemed to be in control of the game. They were up by 18 points in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough as Kansas had a run to remember to tie the game and force overtime.Arkansas was able to recover the lead and narrowly escape the comeback as they edged out the Jayhawks 55-53 in three overtimes.

It was Arkansas’ sixth overall appearance in the Liberty Bowl and their third time winning it. They won their previous two appearances in 2010 against East Carolina and 2016 against Kansas State.
For Kansas, it was only their second time in the Liberty Bowl. Their only appearance came in a loss in 1973 when they played North Carolina State.
