EXCLUSIVE: Poll Shows One GOP Candidate Competitive in County Mayor Race

Former Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell, Jr. would have a solid chance at retaking the office, according to poll commissioned by Republicans in Shelby County and obtained by KWAM News Radio.

Luttrell, who was also elected as sheriff, had strong crossover appeal among Democrat voters who have been disenchanted with the failed policies of local Democrat leaders.

The poll was commissioned by Republicans who had hoped to recruit Luttrell for the race. However, Luttrell reportedly declined.

Rachel Wall, the chairperson of the Republican Party of Shelby County, said Luttrell is a “highly-favored person in our community.”

“He has great crossover support,” she told KWAM News Radio. “But at this stage, no, there’s no announcement in terms of Luttrell.”
