FBI: Tennessee Is One of the Most Violent States in Nation

The FBI released new data that shows robberies, aggravated assaults and murders on are the rise in Tennessee.

In fact, the Volunteer State is third in the nation for violent crime. According to the latest data, the crime rate of nearly 700 violent crimes per 100,000 people is the highest of any state in the South.

The FBI says violent crime nationwide decreased between 2020 and 2021, but murders are on the rise.
