Flying Fish Shuts Down Citing ‘Civil Unrest’

Memphians will have to find another place to get fried catfish and hushpuppies. That’s because the iconic Flying Fish is closing its doors and turning off its fryers.

Flying Fish cited “civil unrest” as the reason why they are shuttering a restaurant that has been a downtown fixture for 18 years.

“Our hope is that downtown Memphis can one day soon again be the vibrant beacon of culture, commerce and creativity it has been for centuries,” the statement reads.
