For Critically-Injured DeSoto Co Deputy, Return To Work A Major Milestone

The constant blare of office phones is part of the daily office grind for many.  For one DeSoto County Sheriff‘s Deputy, that sound symbolizes a comeback.

Deputy Austin Eldridge joined Tim Van Horn to talk about his recent return to the office.

Eldridge was injured in February when he was struck by a vehicle.  The Deputy was helping change tire for a motorist along I-269 near Laughter Road.  Subsequently, he was airlifted to a Memphis hospital with numerous injuries.  Subsequently, part of his left leg had to be amputated.

Today we celebrated another major milestone in his road to recovery.  He discussed his recent progress, including how his first day back on the job went.
