A winner will be crowned Monday night for the College Football Playoff National Championship as the undefeated No. 1 University of Georgia Bulldogs look to defend their title against the No. 3 Texas Christian University Horned Frogs.

Tonight’s matchup will start at 6:30 pm CT on ESPN.

Georgia won a 42-41 nail-biter in the Peach Bowl semi-final against No. 4 Ohio State University Buckeyes and TCU’s stunning 51-45 victory over No. 2 University of Michigan Wolverines has led many to believe they will upset Georgia and shock the sports world yet again.

The last time Georgia and TCU played was in 2016 when the Bulldogs beat the Frogs 31-23 in Memphis for the Liberty Bowl.

This year, SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles will be hosting the big game and both teams have a chance to make college football history.

With a win tonight, the Bulldogs would become the first school to win back-to-back College Football Playoff championships since the bracket format started in 2014.

Also at stake is the chance to be in the dynasty conversation. The last school to repeat back-to-back national championships was SEC rival Alabama in 2011 and 2012.

Georgia has not lost a single game all season and looks to be the 63rd team to finish undefeated as national champions. They did just that in 1980 when they finished the season with a 12-0 record and beat Notre Dame in the championship.

The last team to remain undefeated and win it all was Alabama in 2021.

For TCU, the Horned Frogs have not won a national championship in eight decades when they last won it in 1938.

With this win, they would also be the first Big 12 team to win under the current College Football Playoff format.
