Gov. Bill Lee (R) is catering to the White House rather than catering to the wishes and the knowledge of the people in Tennessee, KWAM contributor Steve Gill told “Wake Up Memphis” Thursday.
As a result of the early April Covenant school shooting in Nashville, Lee has advocated for red flag gun confiscations in a video he shared on his Twitter Wednesday.

I'm asking the General Assembly to pass this before they adjourn. It’s time to set aside politics. Tennesseans are depending on us. pic.twitter.com/2vOe1swgho

Gill says his push for gun-grab legislation is not being supported by Tennessee Republicans and that having the reinforcement of Democrats is its own red flag.
“I guess he wants an invitation to the White House,” Gill told “Wake Up Memphis” host Todd Starnes. “When you got President Biden congratulating him on his legislation, that tells you how far out of step he is with Tennessee.”
