Ja Morant Questionable For Game 2 Following Hand Injury

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant left midway through the final quarter in the 128-112 loss to the Lakers after landing on his hand.

His attempt for a dunk on Lakers star Anthony Davis was squandered when Davis attempted to draw a charge, colliding with Morant mid-air. He ran off the court into the locker room as he yelled in pain and from there, the Grizzlies collapsed.

He returned to the bench shortly after which a bandage around the hand and never got back in the game.

One good sign, however, is that his X-ray results came back negative, which means no significant damage to his right hand.

His availability status for Game 2 on Wednesday is questionable. When asked about how it felt from reporters, Morant described the pain at a 10.

The Grizzlies are also in a tough situation as they are also missing Steven Adams, who has a knee injury, and Brandon Clarke, who has an Achilles tear, out for the rest of the season.

Morant is listed as day-to-day and will be re-evaluated before Game 2 at the FedEx Forum.
