Tennessee State Senator Brent Taylor tore into Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy in the latest back-and forth between the two over how to curb Memphis crime.
During an interview on “Wake Up Memphis,” Taylor responded to Mulroy, who told Fox13 the senator didn’t understand criminal justice system because he was “not a lawyer.”
“He’s right. I’m not a lawyer, but I’m also not a veterinarian, and I know a jackass when I see one,” Taylor told KWAM Wednesday.Taylor pointed out that the DA, as well as the judges, get their authority from the General Assembly — of which he is a part of.
“I sit on the judiciary committee… so DA’s and judges will do exactly I and what I can convince 16 other people in the state senate to go along with me,” Taylor added.
