Pro wrestling is about as Memphis as you can get.  As an epicenter of wrestling, the Mid-South has seen most of the greats grace the ring here.  A “royal” event” Saturday is bringing many of the legends back town.  Jerry “The King” Lawler joined Tim Van Horn to talk about it on The Mighty 990 today.

Jerry Lawler’s Wrestling Reunion is happening Saturday, September 18 at Fitz Casino Tunica Great Hall.  This is an all-ages event.  Lawler was joined by friend and fellow WWE Hall Of Famer Jimmy “Mouth of the South” Hart to talk about the day-long fun.  They said the reunion will feature a meet & greet in the afternoon, followed by seven matches in the evening.  And yes, Hart will manage Lawler in the Main Event!

Jerry and Jimmy come from music backgrounds.  Before causing chaos in the ring, Hart sang in the million-selling group The Gentrys.  In today’s interview, Lawler tells how he used his job as a DJ at KWAM (yep, this station!) into bigger wrestling opportunities.

Knowing Lawler has an affinity for superheroes, Avery Bryson had a special pop culture question for “The King.”
