JUST IN: Watch Body-Cam Footage of Nashville I-65 Shooting

A man who refused to comply with police officers was shot and killed on Interstate 65 after he lunged at officers while pulling a shiny object out of his pocket. The man had a box cutter in his left hand and police feared he had a gun in his right hand. It turned out not to be a handgun. Nine police officers from multiple agencies opened fire. Body cam footage from one of the officer’s is posted below.

Bodycam video released from earlier OIS on I-65. Suspect pulled out a cylindrical item from their pocket (not a firearm) and presented it like a gun.

They attempted deescalate for ~30 minutes prior.
