President of Les Passees Cindi Ledger tells ‘Wake Up Memphis’ with Robyn Walensky all about their “Stock Exchange 2020” event, which is running until Oct. 16.

The annual fundraiser features furniture and home decor in a pop-up consignment shop, except this year due to coronavirus it’s virtual, and you are able to view all of the items for sale online.

Les Passees is a non-profit women’s volunteer organization that provides advocacy and support for children and their families here in Memphis.

“Stock exchange is how we raise our money,” Ledger tells ‘Wake Up Memphis.’

She explains if you have items like lamps, tables, chairs, couches and other treasures that you want to consign, you go to their website and make an appointment for the deliverymen to pick up your items.

The organization helps fund Les Passees Kids on the Block puppet troupe and The Harwood Center preschool for children with special needs.

“The consigner gets to keep 70 percent of the money and we keep 30 percent for the charities,” Ledger tells Walensky.

Walensky says “Ledger’s enthusiasm is infectious” and notes their Stock Exchange event has been a Memphis tradition for over 30 years with the help of volunteers, many of whom are senior citizens.

Shopping is online only and can be found here.
