A Memphis florist is packing up her shop and leaving town due to the rampant crime.
Dr. Telisa Franklin told WREG-TV her shop was hit over twenty times by thieves, forcing her to close her shop.
“I had a viable business,” Franklin said. “We were able to employ people. It was a great floral business. The community loved it, but unfortunately, the criminals kept coming in. It’s a never-ending cycle.”
The florist blasted the revolving door at 201 Poplar, calling on Memphis leaders to intervene on behalf of local business owners.
“So, the community needs to be held accountable. Our law enforcement probably needs more backing,” she told Channel 3. “I have spoken to so many police officers, and they said to Telisa we can lock them up, but they’re out the next day if not that night.”
