Young teenagers that look beyond themselves seem to be a rarity these days yet such a necessity. One local middle schooler has stepped up to the plate.

Southaven teen Preston Eller has put his mowing skills to work by helping the elderly, disabled, single parents, veterans, and anyone in need with their lawns.

Preston took on the 50 Yard Challenge last year, a nationwide program by We Are Raising Men that encourages boys ages seven to 17 to mow yards for those who need assistance.

He has already mowed over 30 lawns and says even though it can be hard sometimes, it is always worth it in the end.

“It’s been really nice helping out people who can’t do it themselves,” Preston told KWAM host Todd Starnes.
