Tennessee Lt. Gov. Randy McNally (R) survived a “no confidence” vote after he became the epicenter of national controversy for liking racy Instagram photos.

GOP senators voted 19-7 Monday in favor of McNally keeping his position, despite some calling for him to step down.

State Rep. Todd Warner (Chapel Hill) not only called for McNally’s resignation papers, he asked the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) to look into the lieutenant governors’ actions for possible criminal violations.

McNally thanked his colleagues after the vote saying, “I have always been honored, humbled and grateful for the support of my caucus. I remain so today.”

He added, “We have a lot of important work left to do as we complete the legislative session, including the budget.”
