Making A “House Call”: Tennessee Speaker Visits KWAM During Memphis Trip

The Tennessee General Assembly’s current session may be over but work ahead of the 2022 midterms and the 2023 session continues.  Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton stopped by KWAM today to discuss several bills, including Truth In Sentencing.  Sexton touted bipartisan support for the bill, aimed to toughen minimum sentencing guidelines for violent offense convictions.

Among other legislation, he also highlighted legislation that will benefit smaller pharmacies, a staple across much of Tennessee.

Speaker Sexton also discussed the state’s budget situation as well as updates on funding for Memphis-area projects and facilities, including sports venues.  Listen to the entire interview below.
