Memphis police are investigating yet another shooting in downtown Memphis. Exclusive video filmed by Black Wood News shows the victim was hit inside a vehicle. He was reportedly struck in the leg. You can watch the full video below.

The shooting happened just off Beale Street near the Peabody Hotel and in front of the Hampton Inn. That area is a popular tourist destination in downtown.

“I don’t know why people even still come downtown,” one angry citizen told KWAM NewsTalk Memphis. “It’s so dangerous. It’s like the city council doesn’t care. They’d rather turn Memphis into Detroit.”Many speculate that police officers have either been told to ignore lawbreakers or they are hesitant to intervene over fears they might be accused of racism.
“It’s damned if you do, damned if you don’t for cops,” another resident said. “They know that (Councilman) J.B. Smiley and the other anti-cop officials will pounce on the police if they make an arrest.”
