Massive Police Presence at Baptist East, No Officers Hurt

DEVELOPING STORY: Dozens of police cruisers have surrounded Baptist East Hospital in Memphis with cruiser lights flashing.
Memphis Police released a statement to ABC24 and WMC-TV late Monday:
“At 7:46 pm, officers responded to a call at 6019 Walnut Grove concerning two shooting victims that arrived by private vehicle. Shortly after, employees called and stated several subjects were on the scene, breaking into a vehicle on campus. Once officers made the scene, they engaged in a foot pursuit and have three males detained. No officers were injured.”
Eyewitnesses tell KWAM News Radio Memphis that as many as 70 police cars were summoned to the scene. And there is also reports of yellow crime scene tape being set up.
Television station WMC reports that according to scanner traffic “there was a disturbance between arguing parties at the hospital” and that “guns (were) possibly involved.”
“Large disturbance following 2 shooting victims showing up at the hospital,” LocalMemphis.com reported. “Firearm may have been discharged on property. MPD hasn’t confirmed much except a large disturbance and it is now under control.”
