Former University of Memphis and Memphis Grizzlies guard Derrick Rose announced his retirement at the age of 35 Thursday morning.
The announcement was made by Rose on social media and in newspapers located in each city that he played basketball in.

Rose played one year for the University of Memphis before he was drafted by his hometown Chicago Bulls.

At the age of 22, he became the youngest player in NBA history to win the Most Valuable Player award.
In 2023, Rose returned to the Bluff City to play for the Memphis Grizzlies but only logged 24 games due to injuries.
