Memphis City Councilman Slams Anti-Trump Resolution

A resolution seeking to discourage Memphis Police from providing security for President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit failed to pass the City Council yesterday. Trump will be at Landers Center in Southaven, MS on June 18th as part of the American Freedom Tour.

Councilman Frank Colvett spoke with Tim Van Horn on “Wake Up Memphis” today, expressing anger over what thinks are partisan politics.  Colvett noted that despite the drama and rhetoric from liberal Councilmen J.B. Smiley & Martavious Jones, the Memphis Police Department hasn’t been contacted to request security assistance.   He also provided details of the city’s newest budget.
