Memphis Cops Fight Suspect in Chicken Wing Joint

DEVELOPING STORY: Memphis police were caught on video fighting with an uncooperative suspect inside a downtown chicken wing joint. Watch below.

The fight happened at Rayford’s All-N-1 Hot Wings on South Third Street.

The person filming the video accused officers of “excessive force.”

However, it’s clear the suspect was resisting arrest and the officers were simply trying to take the man into custody.

“We are aware of this video and are looking into the circumstances surrounding this incident,” MPD said in an email response to television station WREG.

Officers later identified the man as 22-year-old Erion Walker. Walker was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault and vandalism, the television station reported.
