Memphis Mayoral Candidate Says He’s Being Snubbed from Debates

Outspoken Judge Joe Brown told KWAM Tuesday he’s being snubbed from participating in debates for his “common sense” solutions to fighting crime.

The Daily Memphian recently held a mayoral forum and Brown was not invited.

“Not one of them has extended an invitation to me,” Brown said, adding he’s been forced “to crash” them.

“They don’t want me there and when I say ‘They,’ the old-time interests don’t want me there because I make sense and I’m not about holding an elected position or getting appointed to a position or having friends in an elected position,” he said on “Wake Up Memphis.”

Brown faced backlash after he said during a candidate forum men should be protecting women from violent criminals. Since then, the judge alleges he’s never been invited back.

“Some people seem to be offended by common sense,” Brown added.
